Vindictive Afoko, Agyepong Will Cause NPP’s Downfall

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Keta constituency, Richard Quarshigah has described the new executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a recipe for defeat.

According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) law maker, the people leading the NPP do not have the qualities to unite the rank and file of the party to win power in 2016.

The NPP over the weekend elected new national executives to serve the party for a four-year term.

But Mr. Quarshigah has told Citi News, members of the NPP must prepare for another defeat in 2016.

He described Kwabena Agyepong, who is the NPP’s general secretary as “a very vindictive gentleman because of what happened to his father in 1979 and we know Paul Afoko [chairman]; Paul Afoko is another very vindictive character who was incarcerated as a result of his rebellious activities in the then revolution era.”

These reasons according to Mr. Quarshigah will cause the two leaders to “disturb the peace if they get the opportunity.”

He added that their vindictive attitude will not be accepted by Ghanaians which will in turn lead the “NPP further down the hill.”
