Dr Paa Bobo laid to rest

The remains of the renowned highlife musician, Kwaku Agyepong, known in the music scene as Dr Paa Bobo, who died on December 28 last year, was laid to rest at his home town, Akyem Maase in the Eastern Region on Saturday, April 5 after a burial service at the Akyem Maase Methodist School Park.

It was an emotional sight as the coffin containing the remains of Dr Paa Bobo, was lowered into the grave.

The burial and funeral ceremonies of the late highlife musician attracted a large number of musicians from across the 10 regions of Ghana and other stakeholders in the music industry who gathered at Akyem Maase to bid farewell to late highlife star, Dr Paa Bobo.

Some of the musicians who were present at the burial and funeral ceremonies were Abrantie Amakye Dede, Jewel Ackah, Amandzeba Nat Brew, K.K Kabobo, Kofi B, Paa Solo, Professor Kofi Abraham, Carlos Sakyi, Nana Yaw Micah, K.K Yeboah, Ewurama Badu, Agya Koo and a host of others.

Delegation from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by its general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah were present to mourn with Dr Paa Bobo’s family.

Various tributes read at the burial services stated that the late Dr Paa Bobo was a man who showed drive, imagination and positive thinking in all his endeavours.

He was a man who was much concerned about the plights of Ghanaian musicians and agitated for a proper system to be put in place in order to address all the problems that they faced in the country.
