Parliament Asked To Make Rules On Lobbying

The Executive Secretary of Ghana Integrity Initiative, Vitus Azeem has asked Parliament to come out with rules that govern how lobbying takes place in the House.

His comments come a day after a former Majority Leader and MP for Nadoli alleged that MPs take bribe before a bill is passed.

Mr Azeem said a lobby rule will check or reduce allegations of bribe taking by MPs.

Mr Azeem said Mr Bagbin’s outburst is an admission of an irregularity that people shy away from.

Meanwhile, the Minority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has defended the integrity of Parliament describing allegations by MP for Nadwoli as unfounded.

He is therefore pushing for Mr Bagbin to be hauled before the Privileges Committee of Parliament.
