Swiss Coach Ottmar Hitzfeld Expected In Ghana

The two-time Uefa Champions League winner will be visiting Ghana in a week’s time to share ideas with Ghanaian coaches and managers as well as participate in a number of events.

The coach of the Swiss national team Ottmar Hitzfeld is expected in Ghana from March 31 to April 2 to participate in a number of events.

During his stay in Ghana, Hitzfeld, who coached legendary Ghanaian soccer stars such as Samuel Osei Kuffour and Opoku Nti, will interact with coaches and team managers of the Ghana top-flight as well as be the special guest at the relaunch of sports website AllSports.com.gh.

The General Manager of Ringier Ghana Tim Kollman expressed his delight at the impending visit of the two-time Uefa Champions League winner. “Mr. Hitzfeld has a long relationship with Ghana through his job, even though he has never visited Ghana. He is very excited to be making this trip and he hopes to meet up with his former players, and also interact with fellow World Cup coach, Kwesi Appiah.”

As part of his schedule, the two-time world coach of the year will also watch a Champions League game with football fans and stars at the Silverbird Cinema on Tuesday April 1, 2014.

He will also be making a donation at a grassroots Football Charity in Nima before leaving. Senior executives of Ringier AG, and Swiss journalists will accompany Hitzfeld on his trip to Ghana.
