Why I Accepted To Be Nigerian Idol Judge – Dare Art Alade Speaks


Nigerian multi-platinum selling artiste and song writer, Dare Art Alade, known also as Darey, was recently unveiled as one of the judges of the popular Nigerian television reality show, Nigerian Idol, sponsored by Etisalat.

Speaking in an interview on Friday, the RnB artiste, who just concluded his ‘Love Like A Movie 2’ (LLAM2) concert in Lagos, which featured popular American RnB singer, Kelly Rowland, disclosed the reason why he accepted to be a judge on the show.

According to him, “Nigerian idol came calling and man must work”. This was when he was asked why he agreed to take up the job after he finished his concert.

Speaking further, he said would bring “his experience and trained music ear” into the competition.

Darey also said that his aim is to help bring out the best out of the hundred of talents that will audition for the show and promised to only select the best. However, he maintained that the audience has the final say.

He advised the contestants to step up their game as any mistake could cost them eviction from the competition. The singer also pointed out that the eventual winner must possess a unique talent and very likeable qualities.
