Government has indicated it is working round the clock to ensure the recent power crisis being experienced in the country is resolved within the shortest possible time.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) on Friday announced plans to issue a load shedding programme next week.
This impending power rationing is said to have been caused by the erratic supply of gas from Nigeria to power thermal plants in Ghana.
Deputy Minister of Energy, John Jinapor said players in the oil and gas sector have increased their efforts to ensure adequate power is restored.
He told Citi News, government empathizes with Ghanaians and “we share in your pain; we believe that these are difficult moment and we are leaving no stone unturned.”
He disclosed that his outfit is working closely with all the sector agencies to “ensure that within the shortest possible time” the situation will return to normal.
Mr. Jinapor said while the Ministry is dealing with the short-term problem, it will plan ahead by “taking into account long-term plans that we have” and expressed the confidence that “the energy sector will continue to improve.”
