NDC Group Wants Kwabena Adjei Out; Says He’s Failure

A group calling itself, Friends of Dan Abodakpi (FDA) is calling for a new Chairman for the National Democratic Congress to ensure cohesion between the party and the government and to ensure total victory in the 2016 elections.

According to the group, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Malaysia possesses the requisite acumen to creating the synergies between the party at all levels and the government.

Joy News’ Correspondent in the Central Region, Richard Kwadwo Nyarko reports the group blames current leadership of the NDC led by Dr. Kwabena Adjei, of failing to ensure proper cohesion between the party and government.

The governing party is scheduled to go to congress later this year and elect national officers to spearhead its administration for the next four years.

Already, Mr. Kofi Porturphy, National Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has announced his bid to challenge the incumbent, Dr. Kwabena Adjei.

Addressing the media in Cape Coast, Central Regional Coordinator for the FDA, Eric Offei accused the leadership of the party of gross inefficiency including deteriorating the party’s grassroot base.

“We need somebody who has that capacity to bring the party very close to government so that the kind of despondence that we are finding among our members will be reduced to the barest minimum,” Eric Offei stated.

He said the NDC risks facing “a serious problem” in the 2016 elections “if we are not able to douse that kind of despondency between and among members of the party”.

According to him, Ambassador Dan Abodakpi is more than capable of providing the party with the leadership it requires, owing to “his outstanding competency and devotion to party” which he claims “put him above all the others”.
