LEADING CONTENDER for the first Vice Chairman position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has stormed Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, to solicit for votes.

The astute politician, a former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, had been visiting every corner of the country, explaining to party delegates, his vision to transform the NPP.

Mr. Blay’s campaign train finally hit Kumasi on Friday where he was expected to thoroughly explain his policies and plans for the NPP to delegates.

Speaking on Otec Fm, Mr. Blay described Kumasi and for that matter, the Ashanti Region, as the heartbeat of the NPP, noting that he was extremely delighted to visit the area to campaign.

He said his mission in the region was to meet the party’s delegates and inform them about his vision which could help transform the NPP and make it vibrant to win the 2016 polls.

Mr. Blay said he was not only interested in winning the first vice chairman position of the NPP, stating that his desire was to help the party to win the 2016 elections.

He said Ghana’s current state was nothing to write home about, stressing that the country needed a political party like the NPP which had the wherewithal to take the country to the Promised Land.

Mr. Blay urged the teeming NPP delegates in the region and beyond to vote massively for him, assuring them that as the party’s first vice chairman, he would use his position to help the NPP to win political power.

He therefore appealed passionately to the party’s delegates in the region to be his ambassadors by spreading his vision and plans to make the party strong and ready for political power in 2016.

Mr. Blay expressed his strong love and affection for the NPP, stressing that he was not in the race just to win the position for fame, adding that he was contesting because he had the expertise to make the NPP strong again.

He stated that irrespective of the outcome of the party elections, he would remain a loyal and hard working member of the party whose major preoccupation would be what could be done to help the party win power in 2016.

Mr. Blay’s decision to contest for the first vice chairman position of the NPP has delighted the majority of NPP faithful, especially party delegates in the region.

Most of the party’s supporters in the region have openly rooted for Mr. Blay’s candidature.

According to them, besides his competence and rich experience, he is a hard working person whose expertise could help the NPP win election 2016.
