Ex-Ghana Coach Otto Pfister Lands Al Merriekh Job

Former Black Stars Coach Otto Pfister has been appointed as the new El Mereikh coach on a three-year deal that will see him replace sacked Michael Kruger, who was relieved of his duties after failing to qualify for the CAF Champions league first round following their elimination by Ugandan side KCCA.

The German tactician, who led the Black Starlets to win the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 1991 and became famous in Ghana in 1991 for constantly adjusting his pair of trousers below his hips, makes a return to the club he coached between 2006 and 2007, leading them to the Sudan premier league title.

Otto Pfister has been to the African Cup of Nations four times with Burkina Faso, Zaire, Cameroon and Ghana and has been able to reach the Afcon finals twice with Cameroon and Ghana.
