Stop Supporting Mahama’s Govt – NPP Group Tells World Bank, IMF

A pro-NPP group called Citizens Awake Forum says it wants the IMF, EU and the World Bank to stop supporting the government with financial aid.

The group is alleging in a statement that the government does not properly utilize the loans and grants they have received from these institutions.

The Forum has named instances of judgment debts against the state, misappropriation of funds under GYEEDA among others as evidence of the government’s lack of accountability.

Executive Director of the forum, Ernest Kojo in an interview with XYZ News said the group will build a case against government and continue to fight for the Ghanaian people until accountability is assured.

“Nothing shows that monies that were received by the government from these institutions were used to shape the economy. Rather all we hear is how badly our economy is failing.”

Ernest Kojo insists actions are not hate driven but a necessary intervention on behalf of Ghanaians.

“We are not working to sabotage the government. All we are saying is the IMF and the rest should only give aid to people who deserve it “
