MOH To Discuss KATH Committee Report

The Minister of Health, Ms Sherry Ayittey, will at the weekend, discuss with her officials, the committee’s report on the unfortunate incident that happened some few weeks ago at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

The officials, who will include the Deputy and some directors of the Ministry, will look into the findings and recommendations of the Report. Some of these recommendations would be implemented with immediate effect.

A press release issued by MOH, signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr Anthony Goodman, and copied to the Ghana News Agency said, officials of the Ministry have officially visited KATH to assess the situation on the ground and have interacted with Management and a cross-section of the staff, and can confirm that the security arrangements put in place were adequate.

“The Ministry of Health wishes to assure the general public that it will leave no stone unturned, in bringing the perpetrators to book,” the statement said.

The release appealed to those who have withdrawn their services due to insecurity, to return to work, looking at the security arrangements put in place by the Regional Security Council.

“In as much as the Ministry would like to sympathize with both parties, we want all to be co-operative as we work towards finding solution to the matter,” it added.
