Man Jailed 7 Years For Raping Class Three Pupil

A Tamale Circuit Court, presided by over Mr Senyo, has sentenced a 30-year-old electrician to seven years imprisonment for defiling a 14-year-old class three pupil.

According to Chief Inspector Boakye, the accused, Musah Abdul Razak is about 30 years of age but claimed he is 19 years

He said Razak lives with the victim (name withheld) at Builpiela, a suburb of Tamale, where the accused plies his trade as an electrician.

Chief Boakye added that somewhere in October 2013 at about 2pm the accused lured the victim into his room, where he forcibly had sexual intercourse with her and cautioned her not to tell her parents.

According to the mother of the victim, she noticed some morphological changes in the daughter and questioned her and she admitted having been defiled by the victim thrice.

A complaint was therefore lodged with the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Tamale, where the victim was given a police medical form, and the results showed she was 13 weeks six days pregnant.

In a related development, the Tamale Magistrate Court has fined six taxi drivers for causing road obstruction according to Section 22 ( ) of RTA 683/2004.
