Fidelity Bank To Serve 81 Anglican Parishes

Fidelity Bank Ghana Ltd and the Anglican Diocese of Accra have signed a memorandum of understanding that allows all the 81 Parishes in Accra and Tema to bank solely with Fidelity Bank.

Before the agreement, each of the Anglican parishes had a banking relationship with a bank of their choice, making prudent financial management within the diocese challenging.

The Anglican Diocese of Accra, therefore, invited proposals from seven leading banks in the country for a ‘One bank project’, after which Fidelity Bank was selected as the bank they would deal with.

At the signing ceremony in Accra, the Lord Bishop of Accra, the Rt. Rev. Dr Daniel S. M. Torto, commended Fidelity Bank for the extensive work and resources it had put in place to win the bid.

He further called on the bank to assist the church in managing its financial resources through prudent treasury and investment management services.

For his part, the Deputy Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Mr Jim Baiden, lauded the Anglican Diocese of Accra for the “One bank project” and gave an assurance that the bank would offer value-added products and advisory services.

Mr Baiden said the partnership with Fidelity Bank was a win-win situation because the bank would always create value and share with its partners.

“Fidelity Bank is championing Ghana’s journey to financial inclusion by taking banking to the doorstep of the under-banked and unbanked through our innovative service known as Agency Banking, which will be launched in the coming weeks,” he said.
