Kasapreko supports Tema SOS

KASAPREKO Company Limited (KCL), a beverage producer, has presented GH¢10,000 to the SOS Children’s Home in Tema, in the Greater Accra Region.

The company also donated food items, including bags of rice, boxes of soap, cooking oil, and cartons of milk totalling GH¢5,000 towards the upkeep of the children.

The Deputy Managing Director of KCL, Mr Kojo Nunoo, said the donation formed part of KCL’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and commitment to support the development of the country.

“The company has devoted two per cent of its annual profit to support institutions and communities, especially the less privileged in the society,” he said.

Mr Nunoo said KCL, since its establishment, had associated itself with the quality of education and family life, particularly of the youth, adding, “Kasapreko also has an education fund which supports less-privileged children with scholarships”.

The Director of the SOS Children’s Home, Mr Isaac Kojo Ackon, who received the items on behalf of the children, thanked the management of KCL and promised that the items would be used for the intended purpose.

He said since the Home was establishment in 1974, it had offered quality education and family life to over 450 abandoned and destitute children.

“These children live in clusters of about 10 to 15 family houses integrated into communities. Children stay with their families in these villages until they are grown and equipped with good education,” he added.

Mr Ackon mentioned financial challenges as the major issue faced by the management of the home and appealed to corporate institutions to come to the aid of the children.
