Okogyeman Kwaku Gyampah, a member of the Council of State, has said that government will soon commence the rehabilitation works on the Sekondi-Insu-Dunkwa-Awaso and Dunkwa-Kumasi railway lines in order to boost economic activity on that corridor.
According to him, the rehabilitation of the Sekondi-Kojokrom-Takoradi intercity railway line is in progress. The project, when completed, would improve vehicular and passenger flow within these communities
“We are anticipating that the Western lines such as Sekondi-Insu-Dunkwa-Awaso and Dunkwa-Kumasi will commence after the completion of the intercity railway.”
He said must demonstrate the needed “qualities that will rapidly advance the course of grassroots participation in decision-making for national growth,” he said.
