Supreme Court Ruling: Gbese Dzaasetse Sets Records Straight!

The Gbese Dzaasetse and Principal Kingmaker for the Gbese Stool Nii Okai Kasablofo IV has warned the media against the propagation of falsehoods on the issues surrounding the Gbese Chieftaincy.

According to him, recent publications in the media on a Supreme Court ruling involving the Gbese Stool was a frustrated attempt by some elements to gain underserved attention in the media.

Nii Okai Kasablofo IV noted that Mr. Bill Annan, who holds himself as Nii Okaijah III’s attempt to create confusion in the Gbese state by using some media outlets to carry out his dirty biddings will not see the light of day, since the legitimate Gbese Mantse Nii Ayi Bonte II has been recognized as such.

According to Nii Okai Kasablofo IV, the sections of the media have hooked onto the falsehood from Mr. Bill Annan, hence ignoring all avenues of authenticating their information before publication.

He explained that the recent court rulling for which Mr. Bill Annan is claiming to have been declared the Gbese Mantse was in Contempt Application in the Civil Appeal of Suit No. J4/46/2010, involving the Republic Vs. Adama Thompson and 10 others (Ex-parte Nii Tetteh Ahinakwa II, substituted by Francis Ayikai).

Nii Okai Kasablofo IV also took the opportunity to state that, the Applicant in then said Application had sought to have the Applicants convicted of contempt for being in continuous contempt of 17th February 21013 Judgement of the Judicial Committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs.

“Having being convicted by the High Court presided over by His Lordship Justice Lartey-Young, and subsequently by another High Court presided over by Justice Dzakpasu, the Contemors were again convicted by the Court of Appeal,”

“…realizing that they remain recalcitrant, they again hauled before the Supreme Court which decided that the conviction by Lartey-Young was enough and therefore quashed the conviction BY Dzakpasu J, and the Court of Appeal,” he explained.

He noted that Mr. Bill Annan, “imposter” regrettably misinformed the media on these issues claiming the Supreme Court pronounced him the Gbese Mantse.

On his part, the Communications Director to the Gbese Stool, Lawyer Niibi Ayi Bonte said the Gbese stool is tired of the wrong and fabricated stories churned out in the media by no other person but Nii Okaijah who is claiming to be the Gbese Mantse.

He however cautioned the media who have constantly been propagating such falsehoods and misinforming the public against the Gbese Stool and Nii Ayi Bonte II, to desist from the act or face legal action.

Lawyer Niibi Ayi Bonte said although they still holds the media as partners in development, the Gbese Stool will not hesitate to institute legal action on any of them if found culpable in the act of malicious publications against the Gbese Stool and Nii Ayi Bonte II, the legitimate Gbese Mantse.

Lawyer Niibi Ayi Bonte further noted that Gbese now seeks for investors in development of education to help reduce illiteracy and joblessness in the community that the Chief and his elders are committed towards putting all school going children into active academic work for future benefits in development for the community.

He was of the view that this action by the Chief and elders of Gbese to spearhead education in the various skills would yield fruitful results of bringing development to Gbese Stool and its environs.

He admitted that the Gbese Mantse and his elders are looking forward through their educational campaign towards producing future leaders such as presidents and ministers for the Republic of Ghana in the near future.

In another development, Nii Ayi Bonte II Gbese Mantse, Kingmakers and elders of the Gbese Stool have inducted Nii Komey Papa Asa III, Papase Mantse, as Chiefs under the Gbese Stool.
