Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI Bans Premarital Sex

The Omanhene of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area in the Central, Region, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, has announced that, the Traditional Council was not going to countenance teenage pregnancies, mostly associated with school drop-outs among girls in the area.

“Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council has seriously observed with concern the rate at which teenage pregnancy is rising in its communities. The social canker has become headache to Nananom in the Traditional Council. Nananom have taken a serious view of the issue and are warning all parents that, henceforth, any child or children found to be engaging in per-marital activities would be seriously dealt with.

As Omanhene of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, I will not countenance any form of teenage pregnancies in exchange for education, which is the bedrock of development. By-laws on child education are going to be enforced to ensure sanity among girls of school going-age.

Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI gave the warning, when he addressed a durbar organized by the Chiefs and people of Gomoa Awombrew in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region last Saturday.

He noted that, teenage pregnancy has become an epidemic to the people in the area, which needs iron hands to eradicate from the Gomoa society.

The Gomoa Ajumako Omanhene appealed to the Gomoa East District Assembly to ensure that, social amenities were fairly distributed among the communities to enhance development.

The Gomoa East District Chief Executive, Mr. Isaac Kingsley Ahunu-Armah, announced that, the Assembly was doing everything within its power to ensure that, development projects were fairly distributed in all the communities.

He added that most communities have been provided with the needed facilities and called on the people to collaborate with the Assembly to plan for the development of Gomoa Awombrew and its surrounding communities.
