Abuga Pele Trial: First Prosecution Witness testifies


State Prosecutors have called in the first prosecution witness in the trial of former Co-ordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), Abuga Pele, and Philip Akpeena Assibit, a representative of Goodwill International Ghana for allegedly willfully causing financial loss of GH¢4.1 million to the state.

Nuru Hamidan, Municipal Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong in Ashanti is testifying in the case before the Financial Division of the High Court in Accra.  

Meanwhile, the state today proffered 19 counts against the accused persons.

Pele is alleged to have entered into a contract with the second accused person, Goodwill International Ghana, to engage in activities which have not inured to the benefit of the state http://graphic.com.gh/news/general-news/16375-abuga-pele-assibit-charged-with-causing-financial-loss-to-the-state.html . 

The accused have denied the charges and pleaded not guilty.
