De-Vries: We deserved to beat Hearts

Wa All Stars striker, Paul De-Vries, believes that his team was worthy winners against Hearts of Oak on Wednesday afternoon in the First Capital Plus Ghana Premier League.

The Blues beat Mohammed Polo’s men with goals from Samuel Boateng, Abdul Ganiyu and Paul De-Vries, and are now twenty-one points in seventh place in the Premier League.

The 17-year-old came off the bench to seal victory when he headed in a rebound that had come off the crossbar from close range.

“I think it is a big win and deserved, yes. We started better than them and we had a good initiative,” de-Vries told reporters after the game.

“We were determined to beat Hearts again as we beat them last year in Accra. We controlled the whole game and Hearts didn’t have any chance against us.”.

De-Vries was part of the Ghana’s silver winning squad at the 2014 CHAN tournament.

All Stars’ next league match is an away encounter with Heart of Lions on February 15.
