12 Ministerial Advisory Board Sworn Into Office


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has sworn-in a 12 member Ministerial Advisory Board committee to review and work in accordance the with the direction of the foreign policy, in order to adapt it to the international level.

The Advisory Board include,Mrs. Hanna Serwah Tetteh, Chairperson, Kwesi Quartey, Deputy chairperson, Haruna Iddrisu, Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi,Leslie K. Christain, Hon. Emmanuel Bandua, Dr.Gideon Quarcoo, Amb. GodwyII, Hon. Seth Terkper, Mr. Anthony sikpa, Mr. Emmanuel Bombande all are member of the committee including Mr. Sylvester parker Allotey who is the Secretary of the Board.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hanna Serwah Tetteh, at the inauguration ceremony in Accra said the board has been put together such that the objective of the tenure of the Administration and beyond would be achieved.

The exercise, she said, will help them define and redefine the policy perspectives of the ministry with a view to being an effective interface between the Government machinery and the world around.

She pointed out that the key focus or the goal as an era of economic diplomacy, using foreign policy as developmental tools of Ghana that must result in the provision of growth, expansion and diversification of the economy.

Ms. Hanna Tetteh commended the second objective as diplomacy which seeks to open new markets, expand export products as well as market the country as an ideal investment destination and make it hospitable and safe haven for the discerning tourist and business people coming from all parts of the world.

She disclosed that the third focus was where Ghanaian Diplomacy must be used for the enhanced protection of the citizens abroad, adding, the fourth remit was to leverage the goodwill, democratic, credentials, and respect for the country.

She appealed for full commitment on the part of the committee to improve governance of the ministry, and strengthening of its structure.

‘The Ministry will endeavour to provide the committee within the constraints and available resources with the very best of facilities to enable them perform their function judiciously,’ the minister said.
