GCB boss leads bankers’ association

The Managing Director of the GCB Bank Limited, Mr Simon Dornoo, has been elected President of the Ghana Association of Bankers (GAB). He was elected at the association’s 32nd annual general meeting on August 15.

Mr Dornoo took over from the Managing Director of HFC Bank, Mr Asare Akuffo, who held the position for the past four years.

He assured the association of his utmost support and called on members to collaborate with him in the strive towards achieving its objectives.

The past President also thanked members for their support over the years and assured the new leadership of his support should the need arise.

The GAB is the umbrella body of bankers in the country that was formed in 1980 to, among other things, enable exchange of ideas among players in the sector, advocate for good policies for the sector and also help whip member sin line.

It has Mr D.K. Mensah as the Executive Director with the Managing Director of Zenith Bank Ghana, Mr Daniel Asiedu, being the Treasurer.
