Ghana’s most celebrated dancehall artiste ‘Shatta Wale’ Bandana has stated that he has no regrets whatsoever for dropping out of the nomination list of the just-ended BASS Awards.

The leader and founder of the ‘Shatta Movement’ crew who believes his current surge in fame can only be attributed to the almighty God, pulled out from the reggae and dancehall event a few weeks to the awards for reasons known to him alone.

But speaking to Flexy on ETV’s Talk Showbiz, the ‘Dancehall King’ hit maker revealed that it was necessary for him to pull out of the Bass Awards despite several calls from others not to do so because he had worked on himself and some other things.

“I don’t regret pulling out of the Bass Awards at all. Bull Dog who is like a godfather to me in the industry really spoke to me concerning my decision but I felt I needed to relax and work on things well for next year. But I really supported the awards because I was there that night and I really loved what went on – the organization and everything -,” Shatta Wale said.

He also expressed optimism that he would make it to the BASS Awards’ 2014 nomination list and possibly pick a couple of awards.

“I believe next year will be another time for us to also be in there because I’m a dancehall artiste and I really support Bass Awards.”

Those  who want to be part of Bandana’s ‘Shatta Movement’ can look just look it up on Facebook and like the page; “once you do that, you become a ‘Shatta’ and anywhere I see you, I will gladly call you one,” Bandana noted.
