Reports reaching BEATWAVES reveal that top American gospel singer Kirk Franklin, has confirmed he will be performing at this year’s Adom Praise concert to be held on Saturday August 3, at the Perez Dome, formerly Word Miracle Chapel, Dzorwulu junction in Accra.
Adom Praise is an annual Adom Fm event which brings together the most exciting and chart-topping hit makers of the year on one stage.
According to the organizers, Kirk Franklin, who has promised to shake the foundation of the Perez Dome with his stagecraft and dancing skills, will be backed by an 11-man band and some selected Ghanaians who will perform together with him.
The organizers told BEATWAVES that with Kirk Franklin as the headline act, the night would be a memorable one with a show that has been planned to recap the best of the nation’s musical history over the last decade.
They disclosed that the rich experience of Kirk Franklin coupled with his uncountable hits, made him the perfect choice for the show. They encouraged Ghanaians to come and experience an extraordinary gospel music concert, adding that they are confident Kirk Franklin will thrill Ghanaian gospel music fans with a great performance.
Last year’s event witnessed a performance by one of the American gospel musicians, Ron Kenoly, who performed alongside some selected Ghanaian gospel artistes.
Kirk Franklin, known for leading urban contemporary gospel choirs such as The Family, God’s Property and One Nation Crew (1NC) confirmed that he will be performing at the concert on his website, www.kirkfranklin.com/events.
Kirk Franklin is the latest high profile foreign artiste to feature on the award-winning-annual Adom Praise, after earlier performances by Cece Winans and Ron Kenoly.
