DJ Black thrills at Prez of Equatorial Guinea’s granddaughter’s party
Ghana’s number one DJ and arguably one of Africa’s finest, DJ Black thrilled patrons at a private party of Equatorial Guinea President last Saturday.
The Ghanaian DJ, born Kwadwo Ampofo, was in Malabo, capital of Equatorial Guinea over the weekend on the invitation of the President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo’s family.
The host of Open House Party on Joy FM was invited to play at a party organized to celebrate the confirmation of the President’s 10-year-old granddaughter by the Catholic Church there.
DJ Black, who returned Sunday, in an interview with Myjoyonline.com described the experience as “amazing” and recounted that the venue for the party was constructed within 24hours.
“They had started constructing the party venue from Friday so a 24-hour setup. Fresh boards, carpets, constructed everything with rubber, glass, air-condition, a whole champagne bar, and chocolate fountain,” he said.
DJ Black added that, “the President himself was there with the whole family [and] some of the ministers.”
According to him, the party had everything one could wish for under one roof: “imagine a buffet, whatever you wanted, any kind of meat or fish…”
DJ Black said his performance was preceded by a live band after which he took over to thrilled the packed auditorium to exciting Azonto and 1990s jam.
He noted that the heavy rotations of Ghanaian songs such as Eduwoji’s Yenko Nkoaa, Buk Bak’s Kolom and songs from Fuse ODG on some radio stations in the Malabo gave him a fair idea of songs they love to listen to.
