Ghana’s in-form U20 striker Ebenezer Assifuah says the Black Satellites will avenge the defeat they suffered at the hands of France when the two sides meet in the semi-final of the U20 World Cup.

The Black Satellites will take on Les Bleuets on Wednesday in the last four after edging past Chile 4-3 after extra-time in a thriller in Istanbul on Sunday night.

France beat Ghana 3-1 in their opening group match but since then the Black Satellites have improved with an impressive style of play and resilience.

Assifuah who grabbed the winner that sealed Ghana’s places in the last four is confident the Black Satellites will not be under pressure when they take on the Europeans.

“Even though we lost to France, we will not be under pressure,” the Liberty Professionals striker said.

“We will not allow them to beat us again. We have to avenge the group phase defeat.”

Ghana will face France midweek in a match that will see them taking on the tournament favourites.

They may lack the top-level experience of Les Bleuets, but there is enough spirit and indeed raw talent among this side to suggest they should not be written off.
