Medeama have congratulated and welcomed their regional rivals; Hasaacas upon their return to the Ghanaian top flight.

The Green and Whites were impressive in their Middle League promotional playoffs – winning two games and drawing the other to stage a return to the Ghana Premier League.

Their Middle League success this term atoned for last season’s heartache where they stumbled at the final hurdle.

Hasaacas now join Inter Allies and Bechem United as the three teams to take the places of Real Tamale United, Berekum Arsenals and Tema Youth when the 2013-2014 season of the Ghana Premier League starts.

Medeama however who came close to clinching the Premier League title until a late season wobble are delighted to have a regional companion back in Ghana’s elite division.

“Medeama would like to congratulate and welcome Hasaacas back into the Premier League as another team from the west,” Medeama’s Chief Executive James Essilfie told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“At least fans in Western Region would be enjoying local derbies as there are elsewhere.

“We welcome the competition from Hasaacas as they are a formidable side and we wish them well upon their return to the Ghana Premier League.”

Hasaacas are making a return to the Ghana Premier League after suffering relegation in 2010.

They had prior to that been in the Ghanaian top flight consistently for twenty years.
