Ten finalists have made it to Vodafone ICONS street edition. Week by week they will compete in the live episodes and justify why they deserve to win the ultimate prize package valued at GHC 250,000. Unlike previous years where contestants performed in groups, this year’s ICONS will put up solo performances.
The prize package include a brand new Kia Sportage, Samsung products and a recording contract with one of the world’s biggest record label, Universal Records. Industry giants on this label include Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Ashanti just to mention a few.
Head of Brands and Corporate Communications, Carmen Bruce-Annan said ‘we have some very talented individuals this year so it will be highly competitive. We are also offering the biggest prize package ever in the history of reality and talent shows in Ghana, our ICON will have the opportunity to work with a global brand like Universal Records”.
Thousands showed up for the auditions in Koforidua, Kumasi, Swedru, Cape Coast, Takoradi and Tamale. Their numbers were cut down to 150 and further reduced to 40 and then 16 who made it to the Boot Camp. 10 eventually made it and will be performing week by week. The public can either vote to keep their favourites in the competition or vote out contestants who are not pulling their weight.
Vodafone Icons airs on the following networks Metro Tv at 6pm on Sunday, Viasat One at 8pm on Wednesday and GTV at 8pm on Saturday.
