Mahama Should Quickly Instruct EOCO To Retrieve Waterville Monies If…

It could be early days yet but a member of the Communications Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is wondering why government has not taken steps to retrieve the judgement debt monies paid to Waterville Holdings Limited as directed by the Supreme Court last Friday.

Asamoah Gyamfi believes government is scared to approach officials of Waterville and their partners including owner of the luxurious Trassaco Estates, Don Ernesto Taricone, for fear that he (Taricone) might spill the beans about all those involved in the grand scheme to fleece the country of its meager resources.

Speaking on HotFM, he noted that when the court ruled that Alfred Woyome should be arrested for wrongful payment of judgement debt, the NDC government under the late President Mills ordered for the confiscation and frozen of the account of Mr Woyome, and wondered why in the case of Waterville, the Mahama administration is delaying in acting out the court’s directive.

He pointed out that Martin Amidu might have braved all odds in pushing for the case to be heard by the Supreme Court because, perhaps in his role as Attorney-General, he was privy to all the information that made him come to a conclusion that the judgement debt paid to Waterville and Mr Woyome was wrong.

Thus, he called for speedy passage of the Freedom Of Information Act so that people who are not as privileged as Mr Amidu, because of a position they might have held, can follow up on issues they believe reek of corruption.
