Hip hop music in Ghana together with Africa is set to welcome the newest addition called Erlorm on June 15th a date set for his official single release.
Known in real life as Evans Tetteh, Elorm as a stage name was chosen because the rapper wanted to throw attention his country, people and Africa on the international stage.
Erlorm said: ‘I want to give my fans and the people of the world a fast recognition any time my name is mentioned’.
He added that the name gives you an idea of his roots hence most of his songs will represent such values.
Even though Erlorm is a hip hop rapper, the artiste’s first single which will be out for music lovers on June 15th is a typical traditional music blended with elements of Hi-life music.
In explaining the reason for the choice of music as a first single, ‘Erlorm mentioned that, Hip hop is a culture, the genre is a way of life so in writing he looks out for those elements in his country and makes sure he communicates it to the world.
In Ghana, our way of life is very special but hardly do people communicate it hence on June 15th music lovers will experience the real traditional music blended with melodies from our Hi-life music, that to me fits in the constituents of hip hop music.
Elorm raps in four different languages, Ga, Ewe, Akan and English (Pidgen) and he is here not to compete but to make a statement with his music.
The versatile artiste is here to satisfy all kinds of genres of music but in doing so fans will find elements of Hip Hop music in it.
