AUCC to honour Sir Jonah

The African University College of Communications (AUCC), is to name its latest Business School after Sir Sam Jonah, a former President of AngloGold Ashanti.

This was announced when Sir Sam Jonah paid a visit to the University, ahead of the launch of the Business School.

The Business School will be launched on Thursday June 27, 2013.

A statement signed by Barbara Gyamfi, Director, Corporate Communication Department of AUCC and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday, quoted Mr Kojo Yankah, Executive Chairman and Founder, AUCC, saying: “Sir Jonah is a humble, courageous and determined man with great communication skills.”

Dr Koryoe Anim-Wright, Acting Dean of the School, said the University considered it a great honour to work under the guidance and leadership of Sir Jonah, whom they believed would help to redefine the concept of the Business School.

Sir Jonah, in the statement, said he was impressed with the growth of the school in just a decade and encouraged the Governing Council and Management of the University to make a difference in order to position AUCC as a preferred place of higher learning.

Sir Jonah commended Mr Yankah for his dream and added that not everybody with a dream had the courage to achieve it.

“The essence of leadership is to dream,” he said, and pledged to contribute his quota to realize the dream of the Founder and the Governing Council.
