Accam’s team-mate celebrates with him after the two goals
Ghana winger David Accam scored two goals to help Helsingborg to beat Swedish league title holders Elfsborg 2-1 to go top of the country’s top-flight on Monday.
The brace by the Ghana international inflicted Elfsborg’s first defeat of the season.
Accam fired his team into the lead on six minutes before the visitors rallied to draw level in the 22nd minute through Nilsson.
But the Ghanaian sealed the victory in the 39th minute, taking advantage of a defensive slip-up to restore his side’s lead.
The two goals were Accam’s fourth and fifth of the season, making him the third highest scorer of the competition so far.
The victory take Helsingborg to top of the table with 22 points, two more than second-placed Goteborg after nine rounds of matches.
