The spot where Joe Adusah Eyison was shot and killedPolice have arrested one suspect over yet another gun attack in Kumasi that led to the death of a 35-year-old security man identified as Joe Adusah Eyison at a hotel in the early hours of Monday.
David Amoah, was arrested with a live bullet in his pocket within the vicinity of the Ashfood Hotel at Bantama where the shooting, suspected to be linked to armed robbery, occurred.
The invading gun men apparently had attempted to attack guests at the hotel and when the security man resisted, they shot him in the neck.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ashanti regional police command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yusif Mohammed Tanko, told the Graphic Online that the police were trying to establish the role of Amoah in the shooting, and whether there were other persons involved.
According to the PRO, police were quickly informed of the shooting which occurred at about 2am.
Consequently they combed the area for the suspects resulting in the arrest of Amoah.
The deceased was said to be an employee of a security company and worked on part time basis at the hotel.
Giving further details of the shooting, a resident within the crime area said whilst asleep they heard someone shouting on top of the voice, “Thieves, thieves, thieves.”
Just then, a gunshot was heard and another shouts of “I am dying, I am dying was heard.”
People who managed to come out of their rooms saw the body of the security man lying in a pool of blood.
Petrified guests at the hotel were locked up in their rooms to save dear lives.
The deceased was said to have been shot in the neck apparently after struggling with the robbers.
Graphic Online leant that a number of people booked into the hotel that night and the robbers had wanted to attack them.

It was when the security man sought to prevent them from carrying out their mission that they shot him.
After shooting the security man, the robbers made away with a lap top computer at the front desk.
The remains of the deceased had been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.
