Wakaso Mubarak’s hopes of winning a silverware in this season has ended in agony as Barcelona beat them to the Copa Catalunya on Thursday. 

The crosstown rival game which is a game played to mark the end of every season was won by the Catalans on penalties after they established an astonishing dominant display seeing 82 percent ball possession.

With Wakaso in full time action for Espanyol, they were able to hold Barca to a 1-1 stalemate within regulation time and the game headed to spot kicks.

Wakaso put in a strong performance in midfield for Espanyol and fought the Barcelona midfield for each and every ball with his incredible energy level never flagged.

He picked a red card against Barcelona in the weekend La Liga fixture and gave a good account of himself in the game to appease Espanyol fans for the minutes he missed during the La Liga game.

The Black Stars winger expertly converted his penalty kick with a ferocious drive sending Barca keeper Oier Paredes the wrong way.
