Kofi Annan Appeals To Doctors To End Strike

Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, has called for an immediate end to the ongoing strike by members of the Ghana Medical Association.

Kofi Annan is asking all parties who have roles to play in finding a solution to the strike to do so quickly to end the stalemate.

He said “Whatever it is, can be discussed and I hope all will remain open minded and come to the table for discussions and find a way out of the stalemate that is facing all of us.”

The University of Ghana chancellor was speaking to media after paying a courtesy call on President John Mahama at the Flagstaff House.

He also told the media after his meeting with the president that his visit was to discuss pertinent issues regarding the development of the country with the president.

He said “we discussed development issues, questions on how he gets the economy going and all the efforts that he is making to press ahead with the economic development of the country.”
