The 2013 CAF U17 tournament begins in Morocco this Saturday.

Three players each of Ghana’s U17 Group B opponents at the 2013 African Junior Championship have failed CAF’s MRI tests, GHANASoccernet.com understands.

This means the final squads of Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Congo have been reduced to 18 each.

The age-cheating test which can accurately determine the ages of players was conducted on Friday ahead of the start of the tournament.

For Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets two defenders and a striker were over-aged for the competition.

The affected players are Emmanuel Asadu (Amuneke Academy), Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi of Lagos-based side Nath FC and Ibrahim Abdullahi (Sardauna Academy, Kano).

All of Ghana’s 21-man squad passed the test at their base in Marrakesh, Morocco.

The Black Starlets open their campaign against Nigeria on Sunday before playing Congo and Ivory Coast.
