NAIROBI (AFP) – Kenya’s presidential frontrunner Uhuru Kenyatta late Friday extended his lead to more than one million votes on his closest rival Raila Odinga in final vote-counting stages, official results showed.

Final tallies from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission showed Kenyatta to be at 5.8 million votes, or 52 percent, with Odinga on 4.7 million votes or 42 percent of the tallied ballots. Officials said 25 constituencies remain to be counted.
