Ghana U20 captain Lawrence Lartey believes the team has depth in quality to win this month’s  African Youth Championship in Algeria.

The Black Satellites wrapped up preparations for the biannual event with a 1-1 friendly draw against the youth team of Spanish giants Barcelona on Monday.

The Ghanaians are housed in a tricky group where they will battle hosts Algeria, Egypt and Benin.

But the Ashantigold strong defender is confident of their chances in Algeria.

“We have a strong team capable of winning the title and we’re very focused on achieving that,” Lartey said

“We have to keep believing that we can achieve the feat of the 2009 squad that conquered Africa and the World.

“They dream is alive and we’re focused on winning the cup for our people.”

The Black Satellites have ended their 16-week training tour of Italy and Spain and will  fly out to Algeria on Tuesday ahead of the start of the tournament on Saturday March 16.
