Cricket of Tuesday, 26 March 2013 Source: Daily Graphic The national under-19 cricket team left Accra last Saturday for Benoni, South Africa, for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Regional Division Two qualifier from today through to Friday.The 16-man contingent, made up of 14 players and two officials, will contest Swaziland, Tanzania, Rwanda, The Gambia and Mozambique in 50 overs round-robin competition for a place in Division One which will be held in Uganda later in the year.A statement signed by the Secretary General of the Ghana Cricket Association, Francis Asare, said the qualifying structure had been introduced by the ICC to give opportunity to affiliate members to gain qualification to play in the under-19 World Cup.Meanwhile, the senior national side is expected to participate in the Cricket World League Division 7 in Botswana next month.The team leave Accra tomorrow for a pre-tournament camping at the Eastern Cricket Academy in South Africa ahead of the competition from April 4-14.
