NPP to support youth in UER

Mr Gabriel Asaana- Abugiri, Upper East Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Thursday said the party was putting in place strategic plans to support the youth to acquire skills that would enable them to start their own businesses.

He said since the youth were the future leaders of the nation, there was the need for stakeholders including the NPP to show concern in them because they were the driving force for national development.

He noted that exposure to various vocational skills and training would unlock the future potentials of the youth which would allow them to actively participate in decision making that would help government to achieve its aims.

Mr Asaana-Abugiri said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bawku to affirm the NPP’s commitment to developing the youth.

He urged the youth to desist from politics of insults, and concentrate on serving their country because such political games could jeopardize the interest of the state.

He said politics was to unite the people and bring about development but it had rather taken a different trend that could not bring peace but conflict.

He described today’s politics as politics of mischief, insults, anger and money grabbing, which he said must change since it was not worth emulating by the younger generation.

Mr Asaana-Abugiri called on the youth in the Bawku area to see themselves as one people and give peace a chance since it was the surest way of bringing development to the area.
