President donates bull to Ashanti police
Kumasi, Feb.12, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama has donated a fat bull to the Ashanti Regional Police Command towards its annual get-together (WASSA) to be held later this month.
On hand to present the animal at a brief ceremony held at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Kumasi was Madam Animah Wilson, the Deputy Regional Minister.
She gave the police high marks for their professionalism and good job done during the last December 7 polls.
The deputy minister said they deserved credit for the peace and order prevailing in the region.
Added to this is the sustained war against crime, something that has led to a downward trend of crime.
Madam Wilson, however, urged them to keep the momentum to enable the law abiding to live in peace.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Augustine Gyening, Regional Commander, said they were grateful to the President for the gift.
He pledged they would continue to work hard and make the necessary sacrifices to ensure the security of the nation. GNA
