More To Benefit From Tepa Scholarship Scheme

Five more pupils would benefit every other year from the Tepa Scholarship Scheme instituted by the Tepa Traditional Council.
The Omanhene and President of the Tepa Traditional Council, Nana Adusei Atwenewaa Ampem II, said the Council spends about GH¢7,500,000 per year on fresh beneficiaries.
According to him, every beneficiary enjoys about GH¢4,500 for the three year period he is on the scheme.
He said the scheme had contributed to meeting the educational needs of students who could not have gone any higher, but for the assistance from the scheme.
The Omanhene indicated that most of the beneficiaries were now in positions of trust, while others are in the tertiary, and hoped that with time, they would give back to society by contributing to the development of the area.
Nana Ampem disclosed that the number of pupils to benefit from the scheme would increase after the commissioning of the Tepaman Rural Bank, initiated by the Traditional Council.
The proposed bank is scheduled to be commissioned by March this year, and called on citizens to buy shares to be part of the ownership, to enhance development.
