The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has conferred the Civic Responsibility Recognition Award on the Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada for his demonstration of faith in the nation’s medical system when he was involved in a car accident.
The Aide de-camp to the Governor perished in the crash while his driver sustained serious injuries.
Speaking at the brief event held, yesterday, at Government House, Lokoja, the Director-General of NOA, Mr. Mike Omeri, said that the Governor has displayed patriotism by his action when many Nigerians preferred to go abroad for medical treatment.
He said “medical research can be done anywhere in the world; what can be done in the country should be done. The Nigerian factor is a possible culture which will help to contribute to the force that makes a new country”.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, said that the Nigerian factor was about good and not negative as being portrayed especially in the social media even as he urged all Nigerians to show the Nigerian factor that are positive in order to move the country forward.
