Wayne Rooney’s late winner at Fulham helped Manchester United extend their Premier League lead to 10 points.

Rooney surged forward after 78 minutes and eased an accomplished finish into the far corner to end United frustrations up until that point.

The striker had earlier hit the post in a match in which both teams threatened and Fulham’s Bryan Ruiz was also denied by the woodwork, reports the BBC.

Ruiz also had a header cleared off the line just before Rooney’s goal.
