“President Mahama Will Die This Year……”Rev. Owusu Bempah

“Every living soul on this earth has the potential to develop spiritually to prophesying or presage the future depending on how staunch he or she stands in the religious doctrines. One can develop spiritually through intense Prayers, meditation or supplication to the tenets of a religion in which one belief. Prophesy is no novelty to every society in the world except scam and attention seeking prophets who have paraded themselves as God servants among good ones.

Death is inevitable and as such very serious when it is pronounced on someone whether medically, spiritually or a threat from a fellow man. This made the prophesy of Rev. Owusu Bempah an issue of discussion in the Ghanaian media. It becomes more and sardonically precarious when prophesies are made with windows of opportunity for escape. Rev. Bempah’s prophesy came with an indemnity clause to say the lease, which stipulates, unless the President and his advisers do something to avert it. This means there is an ample providence to survive what God has ordained on man. I in my candid opinion and my religious point of view found that very ridiculous and risible when subjected into interpretation.

Needless to say, the President’s death was predicted without how it was going to happen. As luck would have it, everybody will die, as to how it will happen no one can tell. Can President Mahama’s death also be termed as a general prediction to the world just as it is to any man? Nonetheless, the prophesy maker might know something mortal men like myself may not have the opportunity to glance in my entire life and must take his words as grave as they can be. What at all will make President Mahama’s death as a new thing to Ghanaians? Is it because he is the President? Haven’t Ghanaians witness the death of a sitting President before? Or death in general is what we do not know? It is very pathetic for the public to fall hook, line and sinker for natural occurrences like Rev. Bempah’s prophesying.

However, prophesy like death of the President must be delved into in entirety to avert it since no one knows how it is going to occur. The prediction has caused fear and panic among the citizens by their previous experience. The President’s driver can decide to drive carelessly into a ditch or some drunk driver like what happened to Former President Kuffour can just cross the President’s convoy and crash him to death to affirm Rev. Owusu Bempah’s Prophesy. What will be achieved if this happened and indeed the President passed away? When this prediction comes to pass, does that equate someone to the LORD? Come on, let us be serious and wish good for our fellow being as we want for ourselves.

You see, God in His own wisdom made certain things secret but chose some individuals in the society to have little knowledge about them. Rev. Owusu Bempah may be one of those who were lucky and chosen by our savior to be able to see what awaits the President and must not be seen as a doomsayer. He only reported what God has revealed to him and as obedient Man of God, he has to say it as revealed. The Prophesy might look and sound dreadful but it must be said as it is without mincing words. The luckiest aspect of it is that, he made the whole country know that, it can be reverted on certain conditions. This is what their concentration should be and not punching the Man of God left, right center. Remember, God said, touch not my anointed.

God does not descend to deal with mortal men. He does His work through man and that man could be you, me or any other person. We must take precautions and not be so much smug with things that are revealed to Man. The honorable and wisest thing to do is to summon or better still call upon the Rev. for details of his prophesy and means he can help to cancel it. Death is the highest form of punishment to mankind for his gross indiscipline and disobedience on earth after creation by the merciful God up there in His inalienable throne.

The banter between Rev. Owusu Bempah and other Men of God over this prophesy is most prattle of all engagement ever to happen in excess of revelation. The Man according to him received his revelation from God which no one can dispute for he knows the consequences of false prophesy and the punishment hereafter. Why should it be a give and take affair from supposed men of God? As said by Don Carlos, a reggae artist, “let all grow together, Jah shall clean out all the bad weeds and separate them from the good, cos the day is famers season, worry worry not” There is no absolute truth in issues of God, that is why there are so many religions and faiths which all make stride towards one Supreme Being, God, whom the cosmos they say is controlled by Him. He commands all evil to return to mortality.

Men of God will continue to live with us to tell us what they know for us to make a refine decision from what they say.”Let everyman in mankind’s frailty consider his last day, and let none presume upon his good fortunes until he finds life in his grave….” Sophocles. A memory with pain and remorse”. God help mother-Ghana.

The entire piece is a quote from Mr. Yamayama of Swaziland on his visit to Dampong in the Asante Akim District when we had an encounter with him on this subject.
