15 Die In Auto Crashes In Lokoja, Kaduna Roads
An auto accident on the Minna-Kaduna road has claimed the lives of 10 people.
The accident occurred around 8:30am yesterday,when a commercial vehicle conveying some traders fromMinna, Niger State to Kano crashed on the Kaduna road.
The vehicle, which was about 60 kilometres from Kano on the Kaduna road, ran into a moving trailer, an eyewitness said.
It was unclear how many passengers were in the vehicle at press time, but the victims of the ill-fated vehicle were taken to nearby hospitals by sympathisers at the scene of the accident.
Also yesterday, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that five persons lost their lives in a motor accident which occurred on Lokoja-Abuja road.
It said that five others, who were seriously injured in the crash, were receiving treatment at the Ideal Hospital in KotonKarfe.
The Kogi Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr.Garba Mohammed, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja that the victims were all adults, four men and a woman.
He said that they were among the 13 passengers in two commercial vehicles which had a head-on collision at a spot in Achabo village near Gegu at 12 noon.
