Breman Asikuma (C/R), Feb. 1, GNA – Cadres in Central Region have commended the President, John Dramani Mahama for nominating Mr E.K.T. Addo as the Regional Minister-designate.

The members disassociated themselves from the call on the President to retain the former Regional Minister, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe.

At an emergency meeting held at Breman Asikuma, the Cadres expressed disappointment and shock of news item on the radio calling on the President to retain the former Regional Minister because of her association and support for women and the good works she had done in the region.

The spokesperson, Mrs Grace Afoakwa said, the news item was stage-managed one which might have come from the former Regional Minister.

They cautioned people from the region to desist from interfering in the nomination of the Regional Minister-designate and ‘allow the President to make his appointment’.

The Cadres said if the few associates of the former Regional Minister had consulted the greater population of women in the region they would not have made the news item.

‘We will deal drastically with anyone found to be interfering with Mr Addo’s nomination,’ they warned.

The Cadres advised the people of the region to support the President nominee and unite to push the region forward.
