NDLEA nabs 3 NAHCO agents with hard drugs at airport

LAGOS — OPERATIVES of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Thursday, arrested three clearing agents with the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company, NAHCO, for attempting to smuggle two consignments of methamphetamine weighing 36.44 kilogrammes at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on an Emirates flight to Malaysia.
The drug which was concealed in foodstuff and laptop bags declared as personal effects by the consignor was discovered by the anti-narcotic agents during a search.
Speaking on the arrests, NDLEA commander at the Lagos Airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, said the seizure of the drugs was made during a search at the export processing section.
He noted that three suspects, Mr. Bolarinwa Labaika, Mr. Abiodun Ofunaya and Mr. Ugochukwu Amagbu had been arrested in connection with the illegal exportation of the drug.
