Dr Omane-Boamah will coordinate Ghana’s AFCON participation
The Ghana government has appointed Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah as the coordinator of the country’s participation in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports has been assigned the responsibility of coordinating Ghana’s participation in the tournament in South Africa.
A statement from the Presidency and signed by Presidential Spokesperson John Abdulai Jinapor said President John Mahama has tasked Dr. Omane-Boamah to ensure Ghana’s successful preparation and participation in the tournament.
This means Dr Boamah will coordinator affairs of the Black Stars at the tournament as well as supporters who are likely to be taken to the competition to support the team.
Ghana President John Mahama made the promise recently that he will ensure the country’s smooth participation in the competition.
The 2013 African Nations Cup opens on January 19th and ends on February 10th, 2013.
