Anthony Annan has begun light training at Ghana’s camp in Abu Dhabi

Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan had light training on Saturday night in Abu Dhabi as he recovers from injury.

The Spain-based player trained alone at the Zayed Sports Complex as doctors worked on his ankle injury to enable him gain full fitness ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Annan landed awkwardly during last Thursday’s friendly win over Egypt and had to be substituted in the 26th minute.

He is unlikely to play a part in the match against the Carthage Eagles on Sunday as a precautionary measure

Annan is one of Ghana’s experienced players for the tournament having played in the last three editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.
