51 institutions not covered under Ministries

Presidential Policy Advisor, Dr. Sulley Gariba has revealed, about 51 institutions operating under the Office of the President currently, do not have supervision from any of the existing Ministries.
Dr. Gariba therefore explained, ministers-designate to the Presidency will be mandated to take charge of those institutions to make them render proper accountability. In President Mahama’s latest ministerial appointments, he nominated Mr. AlhassanAzong, Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of Public Sector Reform; Mr. Rashid Pelpuo, Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of Public-Private Partnerships; Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed, Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of Development Authorities in the Office of the President; and Fifi Kwetey, Minister of State at the Presidency in charge of Financial and Allied institutions in the Office of the President, amongst others. Outspoken critic and founding member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby earlier this week described President John Mahama’s latest ministerial appointments as unnecessary duplications.
